Goodbye Thatcher

Hello dears

Today I need to talk about an idol, about somebody who change the perspective of women and helped us to believe that we can also do it. One of the things I like the most is the fact that she did not pretend to be a man, she was feminism strong and capable and you could be more or less agree with what she did but as a female and can only admire her.

She inaugurated something called Power dressing, which refers to a style of clothing and hair intended to make wearers seem authoritative and competent, especially in professional settings in business, law and government. While references to the style apply more typically to women, the look is the same for both sexes: medium-length parted hair (trimmed on the back and sides for men); dark, conservative, usually matching pants and jacket (sometimes a long skirt for women); and bold, colorful "accents", such as ties, kerchiefs or brooches. Gossip columnists often refer to the apparent transformation of women, especially those new to fame, as they shed long hair and casual or quirky clothes for the conformist power-dressing look.

When I look at her pictures I can only admire her pearls, her globes and hats. I like so much the design of her shirts and jackets.  Her colours are also strong to determinate that she is here and nobody should be indifferent. For good or for bad she has been a leader, an ambitious leader who did not forget to be woman and to defend it.

Mad Men example, what is the best colour for your skin and hair tone?

Dear all

Today I have decided continue looking for the best way to show the best of us.  As I said in the past I beliave that all women have something special to show and is more about being confident and loving us as we are than anything else.

I decided to get the Mad Men female example, becuase they have different body complexion, different sking tone and hair colour and as you will see this motivates what they wear.

searching I have read that to determine your skin tone have a look at the colour of your nail bed, is it reddish-orange, reddish-blue, pinkish-blue, peachy or yellowish?

Winter tones (also known as deep complexions) have blue, red or pink undertones. Skin can be pale white, olive (Mediterranean, Asian), or dark (Black). Winter people are generally brunettes, with deeply coloured eyes: Peggy Olson

Summer tones (also known as cool complexions), like winter complexions, have green, blue, purple, red or pink undertones. The skin is often pale and pink and more often than not, Summers are natural blondes or brunettes with pale eyes: Joan Holloway

Spring tones (also know as light complexions) have golden undertones and are usually creamy white or peach. Spring people generally have straw-coloured or strawberry red hair, freckles, rosy cheeks, and blue or green eyes; Betty Draper

have you ever think in what is your best colour for your clothes? do you have any prefference?

Hope you like it :) and it motivates you to get the best of your self.

Audrey Hepburn

Dear all

How are you? Exciting about the next week coming? I am, I am full of projects and the spring is coming to Madrid so let’s go to forget about the big winter clothes to start with the summer funny colors.

I always feel more free and happy during spring, when the summer is coming, the flowers are growing and we are getting ready for the next season to come. I enjoy seeing how the days become longer and longer and you start realizing that the birds start singing loud again and feeling are in the air :)

Today I watched a movie about the Audrey Hepburn life, it was nice to see that the wonderful princess we always imagine at the Tiffany´s door was also a strong woman who went for ups and downs and survived. We should not lose the faith, we should become stronger, believe in our self, in wonderful things in life and in all love you have around.

“Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4, 1929 in Brussels, Belgium. She really was blue-blood from the beginning with her father, a wealthy English banker, and her mother, a Dutch baroness. After her parents divorced, Audrey went to London with her mother where she went to a private girls school. Later, when her mother moved back to the Netherlands, she attended private schools as well. While vacationing with her mother in Arnhem, Netherlands, Hitler's army took over the town. It was here that she fell on hard times during the Nazi occupation. Audrey suffered from depression and malnutrition. After the liberation, Audrey went to a ballet school in London on a scholarship and later began a modeling career. As a model, she was graceful and, it seemed, she had found her niche in life - until the film producers came calling. After being spotted modeling by a producer, she was signed to a bit part in the European film Dutch in Seven Lessons (1948) in 1948. Later, she had a speaking role in the 1951 film, Young Wives' Tale (1951) as Eve Lester. The part still wasn't much, so she headed to America to try her luck there. Audrey gained immediate prominence in the US with her role in Roman Holiday (1953) in 1953. This film turned out to be a smashing success as she won an Oscar as Best Actress. This gained her enormous popularity and more plum roles. One of the reasons for her popularity was the fact that she was so elf-like and had class, unlike the sex-goddesses of the time. Roman Holiday (1953) was followed by another similarly wonderful performance in the 1957 classic Funny Face (1957). Sabrina (1954), in 1954, for which she received another Academy nomination, and Love in the Afternoon (1957), in 1957, also garnered rave reviews. In 1959, she received yet another nomination for her role in The Nun's Story (1959). Audrey reached the pinnacle of her career when she played Holly Golightly in the delightful film Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) in 1961. For this she received another nomination. She scored commercial success again in the espionage caper Charade (1963). One of Audrey's most radiant roles was in the fine production of My Fair Lady (1964) in 1964. Her co-star, Rex Harrison, once was asked to identify his favorite leading lady. Without hesitation, he replied, "Audrey Hepburn in 'My Fair Lady.'" After a couple of other movies, most notably Two for the Road (1967), she hit pay dirt and another nomination in 1967's Wait Until Dark (1967). By the end of the sixties, after her divorce from actor Mel Ferrer, Audrey decided to retire while she was on top. Later she married Dr. Andrea Dotti. From time to time, she would appear on the silver screen. One film of note was Robin and Marian (1976), with Sean Connery in 1976. In 1988, Audrey became a special ambassador to the United Nations UNICEF fund helping children in Latin America and Africa, a position she retained until 1993. She was named to People's magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. Her last film was Always (1989) in 1989. Audrey Hepburn died on January 20, 1993 in Tolochnaz, Switzerland, from appendicular cancer. She had made a total of 31 high quality movies. Her elegance and style will always be remembered in film history as evidenced by her being named in Empire magazine's "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time."

Icons and body type

Hello darling

How are you? Im pretty good enjoying Easter and all traditions typical from this season :). I would like to share something in what I have been recently thinking. When it comes to celebrities most of them are fabulous, the wear the right make up, the appropriate clothes colors etc thinking about this I found out that there is a whole theories about what to wear, how to wear etc. Your body type and colors make the difference to choose. As you already know we have around 6 body types and there are some basic tips that you should know it order to shine more than you normally do J

One example of the need we all have to take the most advantage to our physical aspect is Kim Kardashian. I know that some of you probably do not like her but she is the example of someone who does not have the typical figure and still looks amazing and makes people like her. As you can see she does not use to wear casual outfits (because maybe she does not shine as much as with formal) and most of the times she does not mix colours or at least more than two.

As concussion all matters is that we all are fantastic, it does not matter if your hips are bigger or smaller, just feel confident, trust in your inherent attractive and allow people to see how fantastic you are.

New life new habits

It has been a long time since the last time I published something in the blog and the thruth is that my life has changed quite a lot. The name of the blog was cakes and clothes and I think this can continue being the tile but I will try to cook more healthy cakes than previously.

During this time I have tried to practice more sport and the thruth is that this has improved my quality life and I feel better. The patrons I have tried to follow are basic to walk, eat as less processed food as possible and to eat dry fruits and seeds as compliments.

taking one of each with enough vegetables will make the difference, in your body your sking and your mental actitude.
